Not everyone wants to give up the tub. For many Franklin families, a good soak at the end of the day is the whole point of the bathroom. If your tub is chipped, stained, cracked or simply too shallow, replacing it can make a big difference without changing the rest of the room.
Types of tubs we install
- Alcove tubs. The standard three-wall tub, updated with a deeper basin and a new surround.
- Drop-in tubs. Set into a tiled deck, which suits larger primary bathrooms.
- Freestanding tubs. A statement piece that works well in newer Franklin homes with bigger primary suites.
- Walk-in tubs. A watertight door and built-in seat let you step in rather than climb over a wall.
Walk-in tubs for safer bathing
Walk-in tubs are designed for homeowners who still want to bathe but find it hard to get in and out of a standard tub. They feature a low step-in threshold, a built-in seat, grab bars and slip-resistant floors. Some models add hydrotherapy jets. Keep in mind that you fill and drain them while seated inside, so we'll help you pick a model with a fast-drain system and check that your water heater can keep up.
What goes into a replacement
Tub replacement involves more than swapping the fixture. We remove the old tub, check the floor and framing, update the drain and overflow, and finish the surround with tile or panels so everything is sealed and watertight. If your water heater is undersized for a larger tub, we'll flag it during the estimate.
Bathtub Replacement & Walk-In Tubs: common questions
Can a new tub fit in the same space as my old one?
Usually, yes. Standard alcove tubs come in common sizes, and deeper models are available in the same footprint.
How do I know if I need a walk-in tub or a walk-in shower?
If you love to bathe, a walk-in tub keeps that option safe. If you mainly shower, a low-threshold walk-in shower is simpler and roomier. We'll talk through both during your estimate.
